Some words of wisdom. “A winner is someone who recognizes his God-given talents, works his tail off to develop them into skills, and uses these skills to accomplish his goals” these words coming from Boston Celtics great Larry Bird. Larry Bird is famous for many quotes but this quote stood out in my point of view.
What this quote means to me is that Larry is trying to say that we all have a special talent, whether it is sports, a musical instrument, dancing, or anything that may apply to a so called “God-given talent”. Is that you should work at your goal, non-stop to accomplish it. Even if it takes you more than one year to accomplish you should still always word towards your goal. Once, you know whether your good at a certain thing or not that is when you act. I can relate to this because I feel basketball is my God-given talent. I work on my game almost every chance I get; it really makes me want to play. Some people take their position for granted, and don’t work to make themselves better at the sport. People like that really need to open their eyes and decide what they want to be good at in life. If you really are a true hard worker and work to get things accomplished then you should prove your talents. Instead, of sitting on your couch wastes timing, do something that will make people notice you.
This quote from Larry Bird is 100% truth coming from him. He was one of the most hard working basketball players ever to play the sport of basketball besides Michael Jordan or Patrick Ewing and lots of other NBA greats. The point is that he worked hard; you should work hard with anything you do.
