Am I going to be lonely...forever?

Author's Note: I wrote this story in the eyes of a cell phone. If you have a cell phone and you were one, wouldn't you want to be treated right? So if you have a cell phone, treat it with respect like it is a real person that you are dealing with.

Today is January 1st the first day of the New Year. I am sitting on a shelf with my name next to me,  the “Droid Razor, cell phone” when actually I have my own name. It is Clyde. People walk in the Verizon Store in the mall where I live and touch me, slide me, and use my apps. Little children throw me around like I’m just something that makes their live easier. They treat me terribly and I don’t like it. My best friend named Timmy was dropped by a child that was 3 years old. His screen was cracked. He wouldn’t turn on and was dead. Courtney, my girlfriend was sold off to a teenage boy. Who knows what will happen to her, that boy will not treat her right. I hope I go to a loving family and not to someone who doesn’t treat me right.
When we were about to close a family walked in and their teenage daughter was looking for a new cell phone. While I was listening in on their conversation I heard her name was Elli. She seems really nice and I felt bad for her old flip phone which was beat up most likely from the fact that it looked about 2 and ½ years old. Their family decided that they wanted their daughter to get a phone that she could use, surf the internet, and call/text. What is more perfect than me? She walks over to the “Smartphone” section where I was located with the rest of my friends. She picks up “me” and I instantly I feel in love with the girl. Her eyes were beautiful and she had soft hands. Then all of the sudden she set me back down and went over to look at the hotshot “iPhone 4 S” or also know as my competition “Eric”. It looked like she loved him more than me and it made me sad. When it came down for her to decide, she decided to take “Eric”. I watched her and her parents sign the contract for “Eric”. They walked out of the store and I would never see that beautiful girl again. Tomorrow will be another day and hopefully I meet another amazing girl that treats me right.
The next morning we owned and a lot of customers were coming into the store. I saw crazy teenagers and screaming little kids. As people flowed in I wondered why there were so many people. I then realized there was a sign on the door that said “GOING OUT OF BUSINESS, EVERYTHING MUST GO”. Everyone was screaming and grabbing at me. I felt very much violated with all of these mean and bad people touching me. Almost all of the other phones were gone by the end of the day. My brother’s and sister’s gone, and me still there. With five minutes away from closing forever. Then we closed. I was forever forgotten and if that amazing girl saved me, I wouldn’t be thrown in the trash. Now it is time to start I knew life in the dumpsters of America and I am lonely forever.

  1. That is a really sad story. But at the same time it was very interesting.
