Money Shot

Author's Note: I wrote this story about Michael Jordan because he is the best player to play
in my eyes and in many other people's eyes.

If you lead your team to win 6 NBA championships would you be considered the best player of all time? Michael Jordan has accomplished that. He has won 6 national titles in the NBA with the Chicago Bulls. Other people consider him to be cocky and self-centered, but most consider him to be the greatest of all time. Michael Jordan is the best player that has ever played the game of basketball, and no one will and can be as good as him.

Winning 6 championships with the Chicago Bulls has to put Michael Jordan on the top of the list of the best basketball players of all time. Considering he did it all by himself averaging about 33 points in the playoffs and 30 in the regular season. He did have some help from his teammates like Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman. Mainly it was him. When you win 6 championships by yourself you would be considered the best.

Michael Jordan wasn’t always as great as he is known for. In high school, Michael missed the varsity basketball team when he was a junior. He practiced and practiced. He finally achieved his goal and made varsity basketball when he was a senior. He was so good that he earned a scholarship to the University of North Carolina. In his playing days at North Carolina, Jordan won the ACC (Atlantic Coast Conference) freshman of the year award. When he was in his sophomore and junior years he had won some awards like NCAA Championship, 2-time NCAA All-American First Team, ACC Player of the Year, Oscar Robertson Trophy, Naismith College Player of the Year, John R. Wooden Award, and Adolph Rupp Trophy. That is a pretty good college resume for someone who only played 3 years of college ball. His number is retired by North Carolina. The banner hangs in the college arena. He decided to leave the university to go take his talents to the NBA. He was taken 3rd overall by the Chicago Bulls in 1984. There is no question that everyone should think that he is the best to ever play basketball.

Another reason that people believe that Michael Jordan think that he was the best, was because that he played baseball. When he declared retirement, Michael went to go play baseball. I don’t understand how you can think that he isn’t great at basketball because he wanted to play baseball, too. When Michael was ready to hang up the cleats, he played basketball again. This time it wasn’t for the Chicago Bulls, it was for the Washington Wizards. He played about 2 years for the Washington Wizards before he officially retired in 2003. How can you say someone isn’t that greatest just because he took a break from one sport and played another? He was athletic and people who are athletic should be allowed to play more than one sport. Michael Jordan is still that best to ever play the sport of basketball. He is the icon of the sport.

No one will ever be as good as Michael Jordan was. It cannot be done. With everything he has accomplished and everything achieved makes him the best of all time. When you think of basketball, Michael Jordan pops in your head. Others may think that Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, or Dennis Rodman. I still believe that Michael Jordan is the best. If anyone becomes better than Michael Jordan then I will be amazed. Until that happens, Michael Jordan is still the best of all time.
